This scholarship was established in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Tonen Corporation (currently Tonen General Sekiyu Corporation). By providing financial assistance to international students, this scholarship aims to nurture human resources and to promote goodwill between Japan and other countries. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students who wish to obtain a doctorate degree in law but must study exceeding the minimum standard years for degree due to certain circumstances.
