Application information is posted by each undergraduate/graduate school, p.70 * As a rule, application information and materials will be available at the school/graduate school office. The following is a list of major scholarships. However, please note that you may not be able to apply for all scholarships as eligibility and application requirements differ by school/graduate school and year of study. ●Eligibility for application These scholarships target privately financed international students*. Consequently, recipients of the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship, students supported by overseas governments, and those who receive scholarships from scholarship organizations toward their tuition, as well as non-degree research students are not eligible to apply. * Most scholarships require a “college student” or “student” visa status to apply. However, some type (1) scholarships only require that the applicant is NOT a “permanent resident” (eijusha), “long-term resident” (teijusha), or a “spouse of a Japanese resident (or permanent resident)”. ※ Foreign nationals with a resident status of “permanent resident” (eijusha) “long-term resident” (teijusha), “spouse or child of a Japanese resident,” or “spouse or child of a permanent resident” can apply for scholarships in the same way as Japanese students. In this case, there are different application procedures so please check the details with the Scholarships and Financial Assistance Section.※ Applicants with Japanese nationality are not eligible to apply for the scholarship for international students.●Application procedures Each scholarship’s announcement and selection will be conducted through the school/graduate school office in one of the following ways. A. Scholarship announcements are posted on the undergraduate/graduate school bulletin board. Please follow eligibility and application procedures as indicated. B. The undergraduate/graduate school office will have the applicants register for the scholarship for international students. The office will select the students who are worthy of the scholarship from the registered applicants.C. After selection of suitable candidates for an organization’s application requirements, the school/graduate school will notify students directly.●Specific inquiries about scholarship application and procedures Contact your respective undergraduate/graduate school office for any inquiries. ●General inquiries about the scholarship system Student Affairs Division, Scholarships, and Financial Assistance Section(Toyama Campus, Student Bldg., 1st Floor)  Office Hours: 10:00~16:00 (Monday-Friday)   When office hours change, we will make the announcement on our homepage.▍46
