Leave of Absence/Withdrawal and Status of Residencetime work permit to work as a Teaching Assistant (TA) and/or Research Assistant (RA) at Waseda University. However, there is a combined less - than - 20-hour-per-week limit to the number of hours a student may work as a TA and/or RA at Waseda University.* As a general rule, non-regular students (including exchange students) are not allowed to work as a TA or RA. If, due to circumstances, a non-regular student is hired as a TA or RA, then, that student will be required to obtain a part-time work permit.* Regular students must obtain a part-time work permit in order to work at jobs other than a TA or RA inside Waseda University.under the status of residence previously granted  (downloadable from the CIE website and also available at the CIE office)(2) Passport(3) Residence card(4) Student ID<> Please ensure that the information on your Residence Card and your Student ID (such as your address) is up-to-date before applying.  Students are not allowed to stay in Japan with the “Student” status of residence when they take a leave of absence or withdraw from the university. Please leave Japan swiftly or take a procedure to change the status of residence to an appropriate one as soon as possible. When withdrawing, you need to submit a “Notification of the accepting organization (left the organization)” to the Regional Immigration Services Bureau within 14 days. * Please return your residence card at the airport when leaving Japan.* Please refer to the website of the Immigration Services Agency of Japan for more details of the “notification of the accepting organization (left the organization)”.https://www.moj.go.jp/isa/applications/procedures/nyuukokukanri10_00014.html* For procedures other than status of residence, please check with your undergraduate/graduate school office. When reenrolling at/reentering Waseda, you will need to newly obtain a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and a student visa.
