The Center for International Education （CIE） at Waseda University welcomes all international students. In order to ensure students’ most productive experience, this Handbook provides essential and helpful information on a variety of topics. Ever since the foundation of Waseda University in 1882, Waseda has been expanding a longstanding tradition of international student exchange programs. The CIE supports international students to fruitful and healthy study abroad life at Waseda. In this Handbook, you will find information about student life including opening bank accounts, a long list of scholarship opportunities, post-graduate job search procedures in Japan, and other daily life information such as student housing on and offcampus medical and health services, and lists of contacts in cases of emergencies. Moreover, topics related to part-time work permits, status change through regional immigration offices, and procedures to receive student visas are included.
