Possession and Use of Illegal and Dangerous Drug The possession and/or use of marijuana, narcotics, and other such illegal drugs are strictly prohibited in Japan, and such laws are stringently enforced. Narcotics, stimulants, and other such illegal drugs lead to crime and have long-lasting adverse affects on your mind and body. In Japan, possession alone is sufficient to lead to the direst of social punishments and could ruin your life. International students must understand the seriousness of this issue and must never be involved with illegal drugs in any way. All students must be aware of their responsibilities as Waseda University students and act with good judgment. Waseda University has a policy of zero tolerance regarding illegal drug usage and will punish any involvement accordingly. In the past, any Waseda University students found to be involved in illegal drugs, such as marijuana, have all been expelled.
